Bright Bear Technology Solutions, inc. was founded in 2009 in Irvine, California with the goal of using technology to move information to help people. While developing its own branded solutions for gateway security, ip telephony, asset tracking, and backup, Bright Bear began with a focus on small businesses and nonprofit organizations. The business grew substantially over the years and was selected by the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Initiative for mentoring and development. Today, Bright Bear has appeared on CRN Magazine’s MSP 500 list and Ingram Micro’s SMB 500 list, and is recognized as one of the top technology providers in North America.
Partnerships and opportunities followed, notably with HP, Dell, Lenovo, Cisco, Microsoft, Intermedia, Datto, Sophos, Centrastage, Apple, and Cradlepoint. Distribution deals with Ingram Micro, Synnex, D&H, and Tech Data allow Bright Bear’s customers to enjoy purchasing power far beyond what would be available through retail channels.
Recently, a team of security consultants was hired in the course of SOC 2 audit to perform a penetration test against our flagship product, the Grizzly Secure Gateway, in which they would attempt to gain access to a production network. We are pleased to report that after over 18,500 intrusion attempts, they were unsuccessful, and certified that our Grizzly is capable of withstanding some of the most sophisticated known attack vectors.
Our customers reach across many different verticals, from nonprofit organizations to homebuilders, from industrial fabricators to dentists, from tutoring centers to a small airline. One of the most interesting things about what we do is getting to know a lot of different business owners and principals, and understanding the role technology can play in their overall success.
